Farmers receive nearly $3 billion dollars of the USDA’s Coronavirus Food Assistance Program payments.
Here is the breakdown of the $16 billion dollars in direct payments, so far:
- $1.4 billion dollars to livestock
- $758 million dollars to row crops
- $667 million for dairy
- $53 million to specialty crops
Iowa leads the nation with $314 million dollars in payments: $150 million went to livestock and $114 million for row crops.
Wisconsin received $218 million dollars with the bulk of it going to dairy producers.
