Canada calls Biden’s Keystone Pipeline decision a ‘gut punch’

Canadian lawmakers are pushing back against President Joe Biden’s decision to pull permits for the Keystone Pipeline.

They are calling it a “gut punch” for the U.S./Canada relationship.

The project was supposed to pump hundreds of thousands of barrels of oil from Alberta to Nebraska every day, and it promised thousands of construction jobs.

Due to the project being already underway, lawmakers say that Alberta lost billions. They want Prime Minister Trudeau to talk with Biden, and even hit back with tariffs.

Biden says that the pipeline is not in line with his administration’s climate goals.
