As disease threatens global herds, Canadian hog and poultry groups have backed new biosecurity bills in the country.
Under the legislation, any entry onto farms or food processing facilities without lawful authority would be considered an illegal trespass.
The legislation also increases penalties for groups that threaten animal health.
