Canada joins the U.S. in dispute settlement against Mexico over biotech corn

The U.S. is no longer fighting Mexico’s ban on GM corn alone; Canada has joined the dispute settlement.

The country’s Ag and International Trade Ministers say that they share the concerns that Mexico’s measures are not scientifically based and could disrupt international markets.
This comes after the U.S. Trade Rep requested consultations under USMCA last week.

If these consultations are not approved withing 75 days, both countries can request a settlement panel to decide the case.
