NASHVILLE, TENN. (RFD NEWS) — Country music artist Meghan Patrick is celebrating a new chapter in life and music.
The Ontario native and Nashville-based singer has earned more than 150 million streams, won two Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMA) for Female Artist of the Year, and is nominated for additional CCMA honors this September.
Patrick joined us in the studio for Wednesday’s Market Day Report to discuss her latest single, “I Sure Hope So,” an anthem about change, healing, and letting go. The song was co-written with Joe Clemmons and Karen Kosowski and reflects the personal growth that has shaped her music.
She also discussed her deluxe album Golden Child, released in January, which reached the top 10 on Canadian country radio and earned a 2026 Juno Award nomination for Album of the Year.
Patrick shared how becoming a mother has shifted her creative perspective as she prepares for the arrival of her first child, explaining that the experience has changed how she views both her career and success.
She reflected on balancing motherhood with life as a touring artist, saying she feels fortunate to have the support of fellow artists who have navigated similar paths.
Patrick also opened up about the deeply personal stories behind her music, including her journey through an abusive relationship and the healing process that followed. She said her faith, her husband Mitchell Tenpenny, and the support of loved ones helped her rebuild and find a new perspective.
She explained that “I Sure Hope So” is about embracing personal growth and recognizing that change can be a positive thing.
