The Center for Disease Control and Prevention says consumers should throw out their store bought hard-boiled eggs because of a deadly listeria outbreak.
The outbreak has left one person dead and seven people sick in five states, including four that had to be hospitalized.
The death occurred in Texas while the others impacted were in Florida, Maine, Pennsylvania and South Carolina.
The eggs, which have not yet been recalled, were produced by Georgia-based Almark Foods, according to labratory evidence. The eggs were sent to food service operators across the country and the CDC has warned against selling or serving the eggs.
The CDC also warned consumers about products, such as egg salad, that may have used eggs from Almark foods.
Listeria can be the most harmful to infants, pregnant women, newborns and older adults.
