NASHVILLE, Tenn (RFD-TV) The 9th Annual Reckless Kelly Celebrity Softball Jam will take place on Sunday, September 10, in Round Rock Texas. Following nine innings of softball at Dell Diamond, where several former MLB, NFL and University of Texas All-American athletes will take the field, fans will also be treated to a six-hour concert featuring 20+ acts performing on two centerfield stages.
Cody Braun of Reckless Kelly explains the decision to re-direct this year’s proceeds: “Every year, we have been able to raise money to make a difference in the community through this project. After the events of the past week, we knew we needed to direct funds to the relief efforts in Houston and the gulf coast any way we could. That is the main priority for those of us in Texas right now.”
In its nine year history, the Reckless Kelly Celebrity Softball Jam has supported organizations such as Kids in a New Groove and Honor Flight Austin, and has raised over $350,000 for area youth leagues, which included funding for a $150,000 renovation of Mabson Field in East Austin, TX.
