Christmas trees generally take about eight years to grow. Throughout the years growers have slowly declined their planting of trees. In addition to fewer trees being planted, natural disasters such as drought and fire have caused trees to be in shortage. Experts are predicting that trees in popular varieties will be even harder to find in the coming years.
