Time is running out to choose which commodity program and crop coverage payments you want this year. The deadline is March 15th, for Price Loss Coverage or Agriculture Risk Coverage.
That is also the deadline to sign up for $5 dollar an acre payments for cover crops if you already have insurance.
The Farm Service Agency says as of last week, only 67 percent of farmers “expected” to sign up for commodity programs had done so.
