We are now setting the stage heading into harvest season and according to one meteorologist, conditions are looking up for farmers in the Midwest.
Recent USDA data shows that June through August treated corn and soybean country quite well with less than 10% of that region facing drought.
USDA Meteorologist Brad Rippey says that a lack of extreme heat and adequate rainfall has benefited the crops with little to no weather extremes impacting the area since late June’s flooding in the upper Midwest, and the forecast looks about the same.
As harvest nears weather should not be too big of a worry for most.
