Court rejects farm group’s effort to pause EPA’s ban on chlorpyrifos

A federal appeals court has rejected an effort to pause EPA’s ban on chlorpyrifos.

Farm groups say that the ban causes economic harm and argue there is not a substitute for many pests, but a court said that it lacks jurisdiction to “stay the ban.”

Last year, the 9th Circuit Court ruled EPA had to revoke or modify food tolerances to comply with federal guidelines. The ban went into effect last month.
