September 28, 2023 – New York City, New York – The Cowboy Channel’s “100 Rodeos in 100 Days Pre-Show” won the award for Best Sports Programming at the 2023 Cynopsis Best of the Best Awards on Tuesday night (September 27th). The other two finalists were Netflix and CBS. The Cynopsis Best of the Best & Rising Star Awards salute excellence in national TV programming, marketing campaigns, people, tech, and more. The awards recognize outstanding achievement across platforms and overall merit in social good, social justice, kids programming, and work-from-home initiatives for campaigns running in full or in part between November 2022 and June 2023. The winners were announced during a ceremony held at the Edison Ballroom in New York City during the Cynopsis Big TV Conference. Justin McKee accepted the award on behalf of the entire “100 Rodeos in 100 Days” broadcast and production team. Also present were Jeff Medders, Amy Wilson, Katy Lucas, Karlee Peterson, Garrett Wilson, Maggie Burke, and Patrick Gottsch.
“When we first started The Cowboy Channel, we wanted to do things for professional rodeo that these other great sports networks were doing for their respective sports,” said Patrick Gottsch, Founder of The Cowboy Channel. “To be recognized for the 100 Rodeos in 100 Days Pre-Show confirms that we are on the right track, and we greatly appreciate this award.”
The Cowboy Channel first launched “100 Rodeos in 100 Days” three years ago as a summer-long TV programming block featuring professional rodeo-based programming from across the United States, Canada, and Brazil. The programming event quickly grew in popularity, becoming a hit on The Cowboy Channel, and has now expanded into airing additional rodeos on the sister network, The Cowgirl Channel. “100 Rodeos in 100 Days” is something rodeo fans look forward to every year, as there are multiple rodeos on television most days and evenings throughout the summer. In addition to the great competition, viewers especially enjoy seeing how each rodeo celebrates faith, patriotism, family, and community spirit.
