NASHVILLE, Tenn (RFD-TV) Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent are no strangers to country music’s most famous stage. It’s where they made their first appearance as a duo and have since performed over a hundred times. But their appearance this past Saturday night was extra-special: for the first time, the award-winning duo took the Grand Old Opry stage, not as guests, but as full-fledged members.
Country music legend Jeannie Seely, who took part in the induction and will celebrate 50 years as an Opry member later this year, recalled Dailey & Vincent’s first performance on the revered stage. “I had the honor of introducing Dailey & Vincent for their first Opry appearance,” Seely began. “I thought to myself that night, ‘I hope one day I get to see them become members of the Opry one day because they epitomize everything the Opry is on stage and off.’”
“Tradition is our bedrock,” explained Darrin Vincent at a press conference earlier in the afternoon, “and the Grand Ole Opry is one huge family that we love to be a part of. Even before we were invited, we went around the world telling everybody to come to Nashville to come to the Grand Ole Opry and the Ryman Auditorium. We love it, and it’s part of our DNA.”
Opry members Old Crow Medicine Show were also on hand to formally welcome the duo into the family.
Daily & Vincent have receive multiple GRAMMY® nominations and are three-time recipient of the International Bluegrass Music Association Entertainers of the Year award. Their top-rated show airs on RFD-TV on Fridays at 7:30 PM ET.
