As safety is top of mind for consumers, local produce has become more popular during the pandemic and so are local meats.
The Virginia Farm Bureau presents this video highlighting the increase in local meat demand and how producers are trying to keep up.
“I was shocked with the outpouring of interest and demand from customers for lots of products from us, specifically for meat,” Michelle McKenzine, the manager of Bell Air Farm, sadi. “One of the biggest challenges in this COVID crisis has been getting dates in the slaughter house.”
