East and Gulf Coast ports reopen have late night deal

Ports along the East and Gulf Coast are slowly coming back online after a late night deal was reached between the dockworkers union and the U.S. Maritime Alliance.

It is welcomed news to the ag industry, with harvest season underway in most parts of farm country.

The two sides have agreed to a 62 percent pay raise and go back to the bargaining table on other issues like automation, until January 15th.

Mike Steenhoek with the Soy Transportation Coalition joined RFD-TV’s own Suzanne Alexander to discuss the good news, any idea on how the substantial raise came to be, and what other details need to be worked out.
