EPA pulls back health assessment for PFAS chemicals due to political interference

The EPA is pulling back on a health assessment for PFAS chemicals, saying that political interference in the final days of the Trump administration undermined the report.

The EPA claims that this constitutes a violation of the Scientific Integrity Policy and the documents have been removed from the website while a review is conducted.

Trump officials ordered a change to key aspects of the assessment for the so-called “forever chemicals,” which have reportedly been linked to cancer and reproductive problems.

PFAS can contaminate groundwater and have resulted in dairies not being able to market their milk.
