Ethanol producers could benefit from sustainable jet fuel

Sustainable jet fuel could become a viable market for U.S. ethanol producers.

Researchers with fuel supplier, Honeywell, say there has been a shift in the renewable fuels sector over the last two years. The Department of Energy is looking to incentivize the production of 3 billion gallons of sustainable jet fuel by the end of the decade with hopes of growing to 35 billion by 2050.

In order to speed up the transition, Honeywell says the technology needs to be developed at scale using ethanol.
