Nothing brings people together quite like food. And, there’s nothing better than preparing it in the comfort of your own backyard. Exmark—the makers of professional mowing equipment—has just launched a new original video series, Prime Cuts on their Backyard Life website. Prime Cuts, is a four-part outdoor cooking video series hosted by top chef and restaurateur David Bancroft and several acclaimed guest chefs, the series features unique recipes homeowners can replicate in their own backyards.
We’re excited to feature another episode in the series, in which Bancroft and guest chef Rob McDaniel put a unique spin on grilling up a Gulf Coast favorite, pompano.

About The Chefs
David Bancroft is the owner/chef of Auburn-based Acre and Bow & Arrow restaurants, as well as a four-time James Beard ‘Best Chef—South’ award semifinalist and a 2017 Food Network Iron Chef Showdown winner. Inspired by his grandfather’s life as a South Alabama farmer, Bancroft’s heralded for his ability to parlay this upbringing into wonderful farm-to-table cooking techniques and creations.
Guest chef Rob McDaniel is the former executive chef of SpringHouse, a local-food-focused restaurant situated a stone’s throw from Lake Martin in Alexander City, Alabama. The numerous awards and accolades McDaniel has received for his work come as no surprise. For the last five years, the James Beard Foundation has named him a Best Chef South semi-finalist. In 2014, SpringHouse was included in Southern Living’s 100 Best Restaurants in the South. McDaniel was honored as Auburn University’s 2012 Outstanding Hotel and Restaurant Management Program Alumnus. And, the Alexander City Chamber of Commerce honored him as the 2017 Chamber Business Person of the Year.
