Farm groups want Congress to reverse increasing H-2A labor costs

Farm groups are calling on Congress to reverse increasing costs for H-2A labor.

Groups like the Ag Workforce Coalition want lawmakers to support resolutions to the Congressional Review Act, which would disapprove of the methods used to calculate the adverse effect wage rate.

The new rule increases wage rates up to 12 percent across the U.S. Zippy Duvall with the American Farm Bureau says the new adverse effect wage rate will take a toll on H-2A reliant farms, especially small operations.
