On Monday (November 9th), William Wayne “Curly” Gatlin passed away.
Curly was the father of Larry, Steve, Rudy, and LaDonna. The three boys made up the country gospel trio, the Gatlin Brothers.
In 2017, the Gatlin family lost their matriarch, Billie Christine Doan Gatlin, at the age of 88. She and Curly were married for 70 years up to the time of her passing.
The brothers took to Facebook to announce that their father had reunited with their mother in heaven: “It is with great sadness that we share the news of our father’s passing... It is with great joy that we think of the reunion with our mom, his mom and dad and all the saints that were there to usher him into heaven.”
