Finals set at Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo

The second semifinal at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo is complete and now the field is set for Saturday’s finals.

Saddle Bronc

In Saddle bronc riding Spencer wright had the top ride of the entire rodeo when he posted a 90.5 point ride on Calgary Stampede’s horse named Stampede Warrior.

Wright got a $4,000 check for the top ride. Also advancing are Wyatt Casper, Mitch Pollock, and Colt Gordon

Bareback Riding

Clint Laye and Paden Hurst tied atop the bareback riding leaderboard after each posted an 86.5 point ride.

Fort Worth’s own Tilden Hooper also advanced after he ties for third place with South Dakota cowboy Jamie Howlett. Each rider advances after an 85.5 point ride.

Tie-Down Roping

Tie-down roper Tyson Durfey posted the top time, stopping the clock at 7.8 seconds to advance to the finals in Fort Worth.

Competing alongside him in Saturday’s finals will be Adam Gray, Tuf Cooper, and Tyler Milligan.

Steer Wrestling

Jacob Talley took the top spot in steer wrestling after a blazing 4.1-second run. After finishing in first in the second semi-final bracket, Talley earned a $4,000 check and the right to compete for the $20,000 prize on Saturday.

Advancing alongside Talley are Will Lummus who stopped the clock at 4.2 seconds, Bridger Anderson, and Jacob Edler.

Breakaway

It’s a family affair in breakaway roping as sisters, Anna and Cassie Bahe, both advance to the FWSSR championship round. Anna tied for first with a 2.3-second run.

Shai Schaefer also stopped the clock at 2.3 seconds. Cassie posted a time of 2.5 seconds which tied Jackie Crawford for third place

Team Roping

Tyler Wade and Billie Jack Saebens stopped the clock at 5.2 seconds to take the top spot in team roping and to advance to the finals. T

he next three runs were separated by one-tenth of a second each. Lane Ivy and Joseph Harrison posted a time of 5.3 seconds. Britt and Jake Smith finished in third with a time of 5.4 seconds. Charley Crawford and Logan Medlin finished in fourth and will also advance to the finals.

Barrel Racing

List Lockhart had the best time on Friday, stopping the clock at 16.39 seconds. Also advancing to the finals are Brittney Barnett, Lacinda Rose, and last year’s champion in Fort Worth, Hailey Lockwood.

Bull Riding

Two riders made it the full eight seconds on Friday. Trey Kimzey posted an 86 point ride to take first place and Fulton Rutland finished in second with an 84 point ride. Based on a tiebreaker Trevor Kastner and Jeff Askey also advanced.

Saturday night’s Championship Round will be the culmination of this year’s rodeo. Action gets underway at 7:30 p.m.
