The weekly drought monitor was released this week and it shows condition improvement across the country.
Rain and high-elevation snow fell across the West, the Pacific Northwest, the Northern Rockies, and the Great Basin. Producers in the Southeast were also hit with heavy rainfall, which led to severe weather in some places. Abnormal drought did however expand across the Carolinas and the High Plains. The National Weather Service is predicting some relief this weekend for farmers in the Plains and Upper Midwest, though.
Sarah Porter, the director of the Kyl Center for Water Policy at the Morrison Institute joined RFD-TV’s own Tammi Arender for a deeper dive into conditions out west.
