One man is getting a lot of attention after wrangling his puppy from a gator’s mouth, while keeping his cigar intact.
His name is Richard Wilbanks, and his dramatic encounter was caught on a video camera installed by the Florida Wildlife Federation. Wilbanks told a local news outlet that the gator came out of the water like a missile and grabbed his puppy, Gunner.
Wilbanks went for the rescue after never giving it a second thought. The federation says that it installs cameras to demonstrate how we share the landscape with predators.
