Crossovers. Lots of artists from different genres have dabbled in country music. Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow, Steven Tyler, Lionel Richie and even Beyonce have collaborated with and/or incorporated country music into their own work. Now, Backstreet Boy AJ McLean is the latest act to go country.
The transition to country is actually a natural progression. The Backstreet Boys collaborated with country’s Florida Georgia Line in 2016 on the track “God, Your Mama and Me.” That introduction into country inspired McLean to try something on his own. The result is “Back Porch Bottle Service” which McLean debuted for fans at a private event in Nashville.
The event included a meet-and-greet with die hard fans and a short set allowing McLean to debut the new single and a few other songs off the upcoming project.
‘Back Porch Bottle Service’ is all about making time with the one you love,” McLean explained to Billboard.com. “Forget the club, let’s just the make the night about you and me. Let me be your dj, let me be your bartender, let me be your man.”

Backstreet Boys fans should’t be concerned they are losing McLean to country. The boy band just released their first single in five years, “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” and fans can catch their Las Vegas residency July through November.
