The National Junior High Finals Rodeo (NJHFR) is all about showcasing 6th, 7th, and 8th graders and their rodeo skills under the arena spotlight. These kids are undeniably talented and demonstrate advanced horsemanship abilities, accompanied by a supportive, yet competitive, attitude. This year a few contestants were able to shine without their equine partners, saddles, or ropes, following the 5th rodeo performance.
The first annual NJHFR Talent Show was the hidden gem of Tuesday night’s festivities. Held at the Pavilion Stage at the Wilson County Expo Center, these junior rodeo phenoms proved that their capabilities extend far beyond a rodeo arena.
Among the many and varied talents on display, contestants whipped and nae-nae-ed, covered Moe Bandy’s classic country hit “Bandy The Rodeo Clown,” played the ukulele, and juggled while riding a unicycle.
