A Georgia man completed a 2,000 mile hike from North Georgia all the way to Maine along the Appalachian Trail.
Daniel Simms told Fox 5 in Georgia he was looking for a “life reset” after working five years as an automotive engineer in Michigan.
After a year and a half of planning, he started his hike in March. It took him five and a half months to finish.
“One thing that people always say about it is that the trail changes you. I don’t necessarily believe that having done it. I think that the trail lets you become the person you’ve always wanted to be,” Simms said. “It just made me feel a lot better about myself and my place in the world.”
