Global coffee consumption up, signaling easing of pandemic restrictions

Global coffee demand is seeing a return to pre-pandemic levels.

Consumption grew by 1.9 percent in the current marketing season. The International Coffee Organization says that it signals a further easing of pandemic restrictions.

Production, however, is expected to hold steady with a .4 percent increase over last year. Like every other sector of ag, high input prices are hitting producer margins which could slow new production.
