Over four hundred stakeholders from 60 different countries are attending the U.S. Grains Council’s first Global Ethanol Summit.
While ethanol producers in the United States have had a tough year conversations with international groups changes the dialogue for world-wide use. Emily Skor, Growth Energy CEO, says other countries are looking at ethanol to improve domestic policy.
Skor says trade is a top discussion for the United States; the industry had record years for exports in 2017 and 2018 but not in 2019. Ethanol producers want to get global exports back on track. She also says the dialogue has been healthy and energetic between countries which brings hope to some ethanol producers during a hard year.
Today USDA’s Deputy Secretary, Steve Censky, is on tap to address crowds at the event.
