Bayer Ag is in mediation to potentially settle thousands of Roundup lawsuits.
According to Reuters, some legal experts say the cases bring up unique questions that may prevent an easy settlement, like why is Roundup different from other glyphosate product cases.
Bayer says they are only considering a financially reasonable settlement if the company can end all litigation. There are more than 18,000 plaintiffs that say Roundup causes non-Hodgkin lymphoma. So far Bayer has lost 3 jury trials, but they are appealing the verdicts.
Meanwhile, a routine assessment by the Environmental Protection Agency says glyphosate is a beneficial tool for farmers.
