Goats will be on display in Illinois today!
The state’s largest electrical utility, ComEd, has used more than 200 goats to help clear vegetation throughout the state to avoid outages and service disruptions. Today, they are showcasing some of them to celebrate the last week of summer down the Chicago River before they return to the office in September, according to NBC 5 Chicago.
According to ComEd, the goats reduce safety risks to workers and are an eco-friendly alternative. On average, one goat can clear one acre of land a week.
The “small goat parade” will cruise along the River for three hours and will consist of five boats.
