Mint may not sound like a crop you would find in Nebraska, but there is a new program to figure out if farmers can grow it commercially in the Midwest.
Dr. Dipak Santa, an alternative crops breeding specialist, is researching to find the best varieties of the plant to grow in Nebraska.
Currently, about 67 percent of the mint in America is grown in the Pacific Northwest.
