House Speaker Nancy Pelosi urges Congressional leaders to take action to avoid a rail strike

Congress is preparing to step in to avoid a rail strike.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi released a statement saying the “House will take up a bill adopting the tentative agreement - with no poison pills or changes to the negotiated terms - and send it to the Senate.”

This comes after President Biden called on Congress to take action to avoid a strike. Railroad owners warn they could stop accepting sensitive shipments, like fertilizer, as early as Friday is a labor agreement is not soon finalized.
