The winter wheat crop is looking promising so far this year. The news comes after last year’s crop took a hit because of drought in several key growing states.
In Oklahoma, their progress report shows the crop is 70 percent good to excellent, which is up 7 percent from January. In Kansas, the crop is 57 percent good to excellent, up from 54 percent last month. In Texas, winter wheat is at 46 percent good to excellent.
Oklahoma pasture conditions are holding steady, but with just 29 percent in the top category.
