How much will you pay for this year’s July 4th feast?

Families across the U.S. continue to feel the impact of inflation, and as you hit the grocery store to prepare for your Fourth of July celebration, be prepared to pay more than you have ever paid for your cookout.

The American Farm Bureau has just released its July 4th Cookout Survey, and it shows prices are still stubbornly high. The average cookout for a group of 10 will cost more than $71, which is up 5 percent from last year and a whopping 30 percent from five years ago.

American Farm Bureau Economist Bernt Nelson joined RFD-TV’s own Tammi Arender to discuss the findings, what is contributing to the up-tick, and the big takeaway for both consumers and farmers.
