Today is the last day for Social Security beneficiaries to act to receive Economic Impact Payments as soon as possible.

The Internal Revenue Service is directing people who receive Social Security benefits and did not file a tax return in 2018 or 2019 to ensure their information is entered on the IRS’ website. Dependent children should have their information entered as well because there is additional money based on the number of dependents.

Anyone on Social Security benefits who meets the two above qualifications will receive $1,200 as well as $500 per dependent child. Those who do not file by Wednesday will not receive their payment for dependents until 2021.

Additionally, those who began receiving Social Security benefits in 2020 and did not file a return in 2018 and 2019 will need to enter their information on the IRS’ website, but a deadline has not been set.

You can access the IRS’ website here.
