The election is just weeks away, and to get a better idea of the climate in Washington, the Farm Foundation held a farm policy forum.
A former member of the Trump administration says that it is clear where the future of fuels is heading in the U.S.
According to Kip Tom, “I think it’s clear to say, I believe in the future our fuel will come from above the ground, and not below the ground, and I think corn-based ethanol, the other crops are out there too. You’re listening to a corn farmer now, so you know where my bias is. But the reality is it’s a broad-acre crop. It’s produced along a lot of areas, but it’s the rising tide raises all ships. We need to see continued growth in the biofuel industry.”
A former member of the Biden administration’s EPA was also in attendance. He said that the key to biofuel expansion will be finding new markets, and help from the current administration.
