Hurricane Sally’s impact on Alabama agriculture

More than half a million people are now without power due to Hurricane Sally, which came ashore early this morning. The storm is moving inland from the Gulf Shores, with heavy rainfall expected to create hurdles for agriculture.

Alabama Ag Commissioner, Rick Pate speaks with RFD-TV’s Janet Adkison on the current conditions and how they will help producers get through this storm.

“Almost any amount of rain now really wasn’t helpful, even the areas that are just being drenched is just going to hurt us all away across the board,” the Commissioner said. “There is nothing good about it.”
