The Arkansas Department of Transportation says that repairs on a critical bridge on I-40 are moving into the second phase.
Temporary brackets have been placed around the fractured area, completing phase one. The next step involves permanent steel plating, but the contractor is still waiting on some of the materials.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation made traffic changes last week to keep traffic flowing.
The bridge, which is a critical route for ag, should reopen in July or August.
