Idaho’s dry beans are selling for double the price from last year

Dry beans in Idaho are fetching a good price.

“The bean market is actually doing really well with the pandemic. People have started going back to their basics,” farmer Neil Durant said.

Dry bean prices are selling at $38-40 dollars, double the price from last year. Idaho now ranks 5th in dry bean production and 1st in seed production; the state planted 65,000 acres this year, up 38 percent from last year.
