This haunted house in Tennessee requires a two-hour safety video, a safe word, a 40-page waiver, a physical and a drug test just to enter. If you make it out of the mentally and physically taxing haunt, you get $20,000 but no one has ever done so.
McKamey Manor is owned and operated by Russ McKamey in Summertown, Tennessee. McKamey is a self-described “straight-laced conservative” person who has never smoke or drank. He also doesn’t curse and doesn’t allow cursing in the haunted manor, although many guests cannot help themselves.
The attraction is free although McKamey accepts pet food for his dogs as a donation and the haunt features intense audio and lighting, extreme low visibility, strobe lights, damp conditions, close contact with creatures and “very real” graphic horror scenes.
It is not just the physical attractions that spook guests, McKamey also plays mental games and has been sued for things guests thought happened to them however every time video evidence kept by McKamey has proved contrary.
McKamey Manor has been featured on Netflix’s “Haunters: Art of the Scare” an an episode of “Dark Tourist.
