It all started with a sign.
Carson King, an Iowa State student, was holding a sign that was shown frequently on ESPN’s ‘College Gameday’ reading “Busch Light Supply Needs Replenishing” with a link to donate him money.
Quickly he received hundreds of dollars and then number ballooned to more than $6,000 by Monday. So, rather than keep it he decided he was going to donate into the Iowa Children’s Hospital. Now, the account has reached more than $43,000 and Busch Beer and Venmo, the app he used to collect the funds, have agreed to match the amount he raises.
With the contributions from Busch and Venmo, one sign on one TV show has lead to more than $130,000 and counting for a Children’s Hospital.
