Pork producers forced to dispose of animals in Iowa have some relief heading their way.
The state’s Disposal Assistance Program offers $40 dollars per head for between one thousand and 30 thousand animals per producer per round, depending on the number of applicants.
Producers must provide proof of proper disposal and a veterinary letter confirming impending welfare issues.
Funds will be distributed in three rounds with the first round deadline being Friday (5/29/20). Rounds two and three applications windows are June 1st and 9th respectively.
