James Lipton, host of ‘Inside the Actors Studio,’ has died

Actor, writer and television personality James Lipton died Monday after a battle with bladder cancer. He was 93.

Lipton is most famous for his role as the host and creator of ‘Inside the Actors Studio,’ a show that had famous actors and directors take questions from Lipton and acting students. The show began in 1994 and Lipton hosted the program until 2018.

Meryl Streep, Ben Affleck, Tom Hanks, Brad Pitt, Barbra Streisand, Al Pacino, Martin Scorcese, Clint Eastwood, Steven Spielberg and Bradley Cooper are among the A-listers who have appeared on ‘Inside the Actors Studio.’

“There are so many James Lipton stories but I’m sure he would like to be remembered as someone who loved what he did and had tremendous respect for all the people he worked with,” his wife Kedaki Turner told TMZ.
