Jeff Cook, co-founding member of country band Alabama, passes away at 73

Country Music Hall of Fame band, Alabama lost one of its co-founding members today. Jeff Cook died at the age of 73 at his home in Destin, Florida.

He had been battling Parkinson’s for almost a decade, a disorder that affects movement and causes tremors.

He helped form one of the most legendary country music bands, with hits like “Song of the South,” “Mountain Music,” and “My Home’s In Alabama,” just to name a few.

He entered the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005, and a decade later, co-wrote a song on their album called “No Bad Days.”

“Larry’s Country Diner” was a unique down-home variety show which integrated entertainment, interviews, and music in a weekly format.
