John Deere is putting some major dollars into investing in electric-powered equipment.

The company announced it is going to spend nearly $70 million to build a battery and charger manufacturing facility in Kernersville, North Carolina. The 115,000-square-foot facility will build Kreisel battery packs for off-road vehicles.

North Carolina’s governor says it will bring 50 jobs to the area.
