Kansas man found guilty for poaching 60 deer

Medicine Lodge, Kansas (KWCH)-- John Blick Jr. has been found guilty of poaching 60 deer, as well as being a felon in possession of a gun. He will spend fourteen months in prison.

“As part of the felony sentence, Blick was assessed $310,234.68 dollars in restitution that is owed to the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism for the value of the deer killed,” the department stated, according to KWCH.

He also pleaded guilty to a 2019 charge, where he illegally killed three trophy deer.

In all, the charges range from illegally possessing a firearm by a felon, hunting without a valid license, illegally taking trophy deer, hunting with artificial lights, exceeding bag limits, failure to purchase/tag deer, and hunting with the aid of a motor vehicle.
