Country music legend Kenny Rogers has passed away at the age of 81. Rogers’ 50+ year musical career spanned multiple genres, including pop, jazz, folk, rock, in his earlier days, but he is best remembered as one of the giants of country music in the 70s and 80s. His hits include Lucille, The Gambler, Coward of the County, Lady (written by Lionel Richie), Islands in the Stream (with Dolly Parton). Rogers also appeared in several films, some based on stories built around some of the songs he made famous.
Kenny Rogers was inducted to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013.
