Lawmakers are wanting guidance over the 45Z Tax Credit

Lawmakers are pushing the Treasury Department to release guidance supporting domestic feedstocks for sustainable jet fuel.

A letter signed by nearly 40 members of the House points to large amounts of used cooking oil and tallow being imported from places like China. They want the Treasury to release guidance on the 4Z Clean Fuel Production Tax Credit by the end of the year. The group says it would prioritize domestic feedstocks and provide clarity for farmers.

They warn the guidance around the Credit needs to be specific, and ask it only apply to biofuels and feedstocks made here at home.
