Lee Aaker, Rusty from “The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin”, has passed away at 77

Lee Aaker, a 1950s film and TV star most known for his role in The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin, has passed away at the age of 77.

He passed away earlier this month due to a stroke.


Aaker had his first role in 1951’s Benjy, a short film narrated by Henry Fonda. He would go on to play roles in a variety of TV shows and films, including High Noon, John Wayne’s Hondo, The Automatic City, and Bye Bye Birdie.

His most notable role was that of Rusty in The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin, where he was an orphan and the owner of Rin Tin Tin, his dog sidekick. He would have 164 appearances in that show.

Before he even reached the age of 10, he stared in nine films, all in 1952.
