Legislation reintroduced to fix H-2B guest worker issues

Louisiana Congressman Clay Higgins has introduced the Returning Worker Accountability Act.

H-2B visas currently have a cap on the number of workers allowed to enter the country. The bill would exempt returning workers for three years. The legislation is currently in the Judiciary Committee for review.

“That bill completely fixes the H-2B guest worker program, in a way that is safe and squared away for our country,” Higgins said.

The Congressman introduced a similar legislation in 2017 but it failed to gain traction in the committee.
